從前有個猶太人，不理會星期六為休息天的猶太傳統，單獨偷偷地去了練習打高爾夫球。他的球技很差，每次都要打十桿八桿才能入洞。天使發現他獨身於高爾夫球場練球，便到上帝告狀他違規不休息。上帝回答說：「好，要把他懲罰一下。」
猶太人繼續打球，怎知道接下來越打越好：七桿入洞、五桿入洞、三桿入洞、甚至乎之後頻頻一捍入洞。他開心得大聲叫、跳起來歡呼！
天使不解問上帝：「你不是說要懲罰他嗎？為何令他更高興？」
上帝回答：「我已經重重地懲罰他了，因為…」
