大廈公契（簡稱「公契」）的條款對多層大廈或多單位樓房內的各個業主均有約束力。當發展商與首位業主簽訂公契後，其後的業主都受該公契約束。基本上，公契會列明有關大廈的管理及居住 / 使用規則，而一份詳盡的公契可多達一百多頁，其中的條款可能包括：
