香港時裝紡織業曾經盛極一時，女工在工場「織織復織織」，織出香港工業一段光輝史，但八十年代工業北移後陷入沉寂。
經營紡織廠起家的南豐集團，計劃耗資近7億元保育荃灣舊紗廠廠房，將已變成貨倉的廠廈，改建成以時裝為主題的新地標「The Mills」，最快2018年啟用。
活化後的紗廠，變身成集展覽、零售於一身的創業培育中心，針對設計師商業知識淺、拓展人脈難兩大弱點，助他們培養生意觸覺和打通人脈，增加創業成功率。
在荃灣的柴灣角工業區，街上盡是十多層高的工業大廈，令只有3層高的南豐紗廠第四廠特別搶眼：佈滿鏽跡的外牆上，印有褪色紅字招牌「南豐紡織」；入口處中式設計的鐵門，用盡力氣才推得動。
2008年紗廠停運後改作貨倉，但外貌依然保存如昔，生產綫上的舊機器存放在廠廈內，靜候重新展出、向公眾介紹香港昔日輝煌的時裝紡織史。
